Derek Palmer, age 68, passed away on September 8, 2024. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 14 years and was formerly a resident of Monument. He worked as a truck driver in his younger years and transitioned to assembly and manufacture work as he got older. He retired from Virtual Industries in Colorado Springs.

Derek was born on July 21, 1956, to Harold and Betty Palmer in San Diego, California. On December 11, 1976, he married Karen in Laguna Hills, California.

He was fond of bowling and was part of a league in Monument. Derek also enjoyed camping and fishing up at Trout Haven and had an appreciation for watching football, especially his favorite team the Raiders. He attended Mission Viejo High School and graduated in 1974.

Derek is survived by his wife, Karen Palmer; his children: Sean Palmer, Julie Goodchild and Amanda Stinson; his brother, Daren Palmer; his grandchildren: Skyla Proffitt, Ashton Proffitt, Preston Proffitt, Alyssa Goodchild and Amaya Stinson. He was preceded in death by Harold Palmer, Betty Palmer, Devon Palmer, Jessica Proffitt, Jeffrey Palmer.

A celebration of life service will be held for close friends and family next Spring.
