Diane went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021.
Diane was a resident of Colorado Springs for 43 years. Diane was born in Paris, France on February 25, 1959 to Gerald L. and Georgia E. Gilkey, and traveled around the world until her father retired from the service and settled in Colorado Springs.
Diane was survived by her father, Gerald Gilkey; sons, Charles, Patrick, and Kevin; daughters-in-law Lauren and Ashley; 5 grandchildren, Sienna, Joshua, Riley, Sterling, and Sophia; brother, Gerald Gilkey, Jr.; and nephew, Bradley Gilkey.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Gilkey; sister, Cindy Mazzeo; both grandparents and several nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.
Diane graduated from Hanau High School in Germany and after returning to the United States married Robert Holt. Three boys were born to this marriage but ended in divorce. Later, she held many jobs but the one she like most was with Volunteers of America, laurel Manor Garden for about 13 years.
Diane had a heart made of gold. She loved her three sons deeply. Besides spending time with family and friends, Diane had a passion for camping, planting flowers, watching the Aspen trees turn golden in September, and playing golf with her companion, Kenny. Diane also adored her two cats, Precious and Cuddles. She touched many lives with her generosity and her ability to sense when people needed help.
A memorial service will be held for Diane at Shrine of Remembrance located at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd on April 14th, 2021 at 2pm.
