Diane Lee Ewing, 65, went home to Heaven on September 27, 2016. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for 46 years, and grew up in Salida, Colorado.

She was born on March 23, 1951 to Clark and Madlyn Wickers in Denver, Colorado. On June 21, 1981 she married the love of her life, Guestler Ewing.

She is survived by her son, Robert Purnell; her daughter, Amanda Ewing; and her granddaughter, Hannah Noah. Guestler Ewing preceded her in passing on August 23, 1997.

Diane was a Mom, a Grandma, a Sister, and a friend.

Her love and passion was for art and painting. Early in her art career, she focused on pencils and pastels. She eventually came to love oil painting. This medium produced many of her greatest works, earning many awards in the shows she entered. Finally, she transferred her talents to water colors. She painted many watercolors over the last 5 years, and it brought her great joy to give these away to friends and family.

She also loved to garden and plant flowers. She cared greatly for animals, consistently bringing in cats and dogs to share her home with her.

A memorial service will be held for her on Thursday, October 6th at 10am at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, located at 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80910.
