Donald David Barnett was born in Joliet, Illinois in 1937. He was the oldest of two children born to Lawrence and Nettie Barnett. He was a Vietnam Vet who enlisted in the USAF at 18 and retired after 20 years of service at the rank of MSgt.
He met the love of his life, Micheline, in 1961 while stationed in France. They married in 1962 and had one daughter, Nathalie. Of all the states and countries he lived in during active duty and civilian life, his favorite was Ft. Worth, Texas. After retiring from civilian life, his greatest joy was helping take care of his two granddaughters and watching them grow up to be wonderful young ladies.
Donald was adored and respected by all who met him. He leaves behind his daughter, Nathalie Plenz; son-in-law, Joachim; and his two granddaughters, Sabrina Kimm (Jonathan) and Jessica Plenz. He also leaves behind one brother, one brother-in-law and dozens of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be missed and forever loved by his family.
Graveside services will be held on 30 Jan 25 at 1300 hours at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
