Donald E. McCormick, age 75, passed away on June 21, 2018. Don was born to William and Dorothy McCormick on June 3, 1943. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs.
Don was a machinist and owned Martino-McCormick Automotive. He loved auto racing and built engines and worked on cars for the Quarter Midgets that his sons raced, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the IndyCar Series among others. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Moose Fraternity. He will be fondly remembered for his legendary Saint Patrick’s Day parties.
He is survived by his children: Barbara Poe, Kathleen Collins, Susan Brennan, Daniel Martino, and Michael McCormick. He was loved by his grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 8:00am on Friday, June 29, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A reception for family and friends will follow. Private inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery.
