Donald Earl “Don” Singmaster
March 16, 1934 – August 6, 2016
Donald Earl “Don” Singmaster passed away surrounded by family on August 6, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Colorado Springs on March 16, 1934, to Rex and Blanche (Skinner) Singmaster. Don was married to Barbara Ruth Brubaker on June 23, 1956. He was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School and Colorado College. He worked for Pure Oil Company in Midland, Texas and retired from the Colorado Springs Utilities after 37 years.

Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 60 years; his sons: Steven (Toni) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Scott (Lynda) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his daughter, Susan (Doug) Murray of Wakita, Oklahoma. He was a loving “Papa” to his grandchildren: Lauren and Allison Singmaster of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Korde (Crystal) Broker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Matthew (Krista) Broker of Peyton, Colorado, Alexis (Peter) Serff of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and seven great-grandchildren.

Don was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elks B.P.O.E. 309, Friends of the Pioneer Museum, El Paso County Pioneers Association, and Colorado Springs High School/Palmer Alumni Association. He was an avid fan of the Broncos and Colorado College Hockey.

Visitation will be at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Avenue, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
