Donald Kilgore
Donald Kilgore, age 75, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1996 and formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Pikes Peak Hospice Residence. He was a retired contractor who had for many years worked with Atmel Corporation.
Donald Ray Kilgore was born on August 24, 1938 in Pueblo, Colorado to the late D.W. “Doc” and Sylvia (Hankla) Kilgore. He attended schools in Las Vegas and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1955. He attended Nuclear Power School and served his country honorably for six years in the United States Navy. Don had many careers and interests. He enjoyed bowling and loved tennis. He served on the Board of Directors of the Satellite Hotel, was a member of VFW Post 4051 and was an active member of the En Chante and Footnotes Dance Clubs.
He married Marilyn “Yvonne” Varner on January 21, 2001 in Colorado Springs. Yvonne survives and lives at the Satellite where they had resided for more than 14 years.
Don is also survived by his daughter: Tawna of Florida; his sister: Joanne of Arizona; his stepchildren: Starla Dietrich, Randall Laduca, Jonathan Crump and Daniel Paul Crump. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary and his sister, Glenda.
At his request no services are planned, but memorials may be made to VFW Post 4051.
Donald will be best remembered for his wonderful gift of dancing.
