Donna K. Scott, a cherished resident of Colorado Springs for over two decades, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in her beloved home with a serene view of Pikes Peak. Born on June 13, 1947, in Missouri to Don and Wilda (Brashers) Stogsdill, Donna found fulfillment as a dedicated computer programmer, applying her talents with diligence and expertise.

Donna was not only a professional but also a devoted caregiver to her family, providing unwavering support during their final days. Her selflessness and compassion were evident throughout her life, reflecting her strong faith and acceptance of life’s transitions. Despite her strong faith, she never embraced bigotry but instead embodied love and acceptance towards all.

Her passions were diverse and deeply cherished. Donna found solace in hiking the scenic trails of Colorado, found creative expression through crochet, and delighted in exploring the lives of others through biographies, her favorite genre of books. She eschewed television, preferring the company of literature and the great outdoors.

A lifelong advocate for women’s shelters, Donna’s commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in her community left an indelible mark. Her generosity of spirit and dedication to helping others will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched.

Donna is survived by her nephew, Jason Forsyth; and her nieces: Carrie McNair and Kimberly Clements. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister; and her brother.

In accordance with her wishes, private family services and inurnment will be held. Those who wish to honor Donna’s memory may contribute to a local women’s shelter of their choice or to Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site at Garden of the Gods, a place she cherished (www.rockledgeranch.com).

Donna leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, independence, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of Colorado. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and her enduring love for biographies and the natural world. Her life was a testament to simple pleasures and profound empathy, inspiring all who had the privilege to know her.
