Donna Lee McEntyre, a Fountain resident since 1985, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021.
Donna was born on April 28, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Boyd Gilliland and Viola Grace (Conway) Gilliland. Raised in Franklin, PA, she married William Lee McEntyre, August 1, 1964, and enjoyed 26 years in the military life, with 2 tours in Germany.
She worked 28 years in Federal Service with positions in the FBI, US Space Command, Air Force Space Command, including a stint in NORAD. Donna was a fanatical Broncos fan, an avid scrapbooker and Bunco player. Her interests also included bowling, camping and family barbeques.
She is survived by her husband, William McEntyre; three sons: William McEntyre Jr., Joe McEntyre (wife, Ruth), Robert McEntyre (wife, Brook); a sister, Barbara Carpenter; a sister-in-law, Judy Gilliland; five grandchildren: Scott Zakaras (wife, Katrina), Angela Sloboda (husband, Ben), Alysha Bongard, Samantha McEntyre, and Joey McEntyre; and five great-grandchildren: Brandon Zakaras, Caiden Zakaras, Arianna Bongard, Anthony Bongard, and Patrick Sloboda. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Everett Gilliland.
Graveside services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
