Doris Laverne Becker
September 8, 1923 – August 17, 2018
Doris Laverne Becker went to be with Jesus with family by her side. She moved to Colorado Springs with her husband, Bob Becker (now deceased), in 1980 to be near their grandchildren, the light of their lives.
Doris was born September 8, 1923 in Chicago, IL. Doris was politically astute and loved to share her political views with anyone that would listen. She campaigned relentlessly for things she believed in. Doris loved her vegetable and flower gardens and would spend hours playing in the dirt. Preparing food was a passion of hers and how she showed love to those around her. Bob and Doris loved spending time with their grandchildren and took them on frequent road trips to explore the Colorado countryside. Traveling was a big part of their lives. She volunteered for the Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen, the DA’s office, D11 Grandfriends, her Church, and the Republican party.
She is survived by daughters, Cathey DeRosa and Caryn Becker (Bill Kivela); and son, Curt Becker (Christine Becker); grandchildren: Corey DeRosa, Carley DeRosa, Casey DeRosa, Jay DeRosa, Mia Becker and Danny Becker.
Service begins at 2pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel located at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Private entombment Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations made payable to the Sue DiNapoli Ovarian Cancer Society, Free to Breathe, or National Fibromyalgia Association.

25 Sep 2018Caryn and family, my deepest condolences to all. Thank you Caryn for the beautiful letter you sent me in February, it made me cry. This morning I woke up an was driven to look up your Mom in computer, as I lay there thinking of my Mom Marie. {Marie went to God on August 23rd 2018} We are grieving together for these 2 beautiful women, I am so thankful I got to know your parents, Doris and Bob many years ago, but the memories are still with me. God be with all of you. Keep in touch. Wendy
