Dorothy May Zamora, 72, went to be with her Savior on July 20, 2015 where she is now celebrating. Dorothy had dementia and recently suffered a mild stroke. She lived her remaining days at her home in Colorado Springs. Dorothy was born on May 26, 1943 to the late Joe and Pauline (Padilla) Zamora in La Junta, Colorado; where she was raised and remained until moving to Colorado Springs in the early 1970’s.

Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker who often cooked up great meals to share with her family. She enjoyed sewing patch blankets and quilts as well as figuring out crossword puzzles and meticulously trying to stay inside the lines of her coloring books.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Felix Zamora; sister, Margaret Zamora; nieces and nephews: Pablo, Kris and Jennifer Guzman, Leslie Guzman-Benavidez, Anna Marie (Kevin) Schrock and Elizabeth Riggs; great nieces and nephews: Isaiah Benavidez, Alec, Megean and Zachery Riggs and Jonathon and Kira Schrock. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Zamora and her sister, Evelyn Zamora Guzman.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Lighthouse Temple Church, 111 North 32nd Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Rocky Ford Cemetery in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
