Dot Travelstead
Dot Travelstead, age 70, a resident of Colorado Springs since June of 1984, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home. For 26 years, she was the night manager at the Glenpond Apartments. She was a loving wife, mother, and aunt.
Dorothy Mary Ward was born on March 9, 1942 in Warrington, England to the late John and Elsie (Robinson) Ward. She was baptized in the Church of England. She attended schools in England, married, and raised a family. She married the love of her life, Alvin Lee Travelstead on October 20, 1979 in Warrington. In 1984, she became an employee of the Glenpond Apartments where she helped in the gardens and management. For years, she assisted with residents’ every need and was loved by them dearly.
She is survived by her husband; her daughter: Lesley M. (husband, Steve) Warham of Cheadle, Cheshire, England; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister; Olive Clemo and one niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel with visitation beginning one hour prior. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Cremation is planned.
