Dott Smith, 97, passed away on December 13, 2014. She was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and was originally from Texas. Born on February 15, 1917 to Reverend David Henry and Katie Lee (Campbell) Hopkins in Texas City, TX. She had two wonderful husbands – L Jack Ford and Harold O Smith – both of whom preceded her in death. She had five sons; 3 step children; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and even some great-great grandchildren.
She was always an active member in her church – Vista Grande Church of God. For 12 years she sang with the Velvet Hill Sweet Adelines chorus. Her favorite hobbies were playing dominoes and word games and keeping up with her family and many friends via e-mail.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at 2:00 at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
