Dougles Ray McAllister, 83, passed away on March 17, 2022. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO for the last 28 years and formerly a resident of Sacramento, CA where he was born and raised. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and retired from the Federal Civilian Service after 55 years of dedicated service.
He was born to Wesley J. McAllister and Gladys Richardson, in Sacramento, CA on Jun 3, 1938. He was married to Brenda Mae Bartlett on October 19, 1963 in Springfield, IL.
Being a Mechanical Engineer by trade, he loved designing and seeing those designs come to fruition. Whether it was electronics, wood working, or any task or project that he tackled, he was always busy. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and showed his love for Jesus Christ by his example and his service over many years.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda, his second son, David B. McAllister, and grandson, Stephen J. McAllister. He is survived by his children: Michael (Kathleen), Cheryl Johnson, Elizabeth, and Patricia; his grandchildren: Kristopher (Ashley), Hillary (Zack), Liam, Jessica, Neil, William (Elyse), Kira, and Sarah; and his great-grandchildren: Jack Henry, Pandora Quinn, Ryan Christine, Theodore Stephen, Quinn, Grant, and Ember.
A closed casket visitation will be held on April 1, 2022 from 9:00am-10:00am at 4955 Meadowland Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Funeral service will be held right after at 10:00am. Burial services follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 at 12:00pm.
