Doyle C. Bain
Doyle C. Bain, age 82, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1959 and formerly of Madisonville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday May 5, 2013 following an accidental fall. He had retired after serving 36 years with Bell Telephone Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Doyle Copeland Bain was born on October 14, 1929 in Madisonville, Tennessee to the late William and Florence (Coleman) Bain. He was a 1947 graduate of Madisonville High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1948 until 1951. He married Marjorie Anne Mattson on April 24, 1956 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. Doyle was a former deacon at First Southern Baptist and a Deacon Emeritus at Village Seven Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening and helping others. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his loving daughter: Debbie (husband, Gary) Johnson of Lubbock, Texas; and his son: Darrell (wife, Lonicia) Bain of Helena, Montana. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Nathan, Kristen, Lauren, Dawnell, Desireé, and Zach; and two step-grandchildren: Steven and Charles. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving Doyle are his sisters: Louella “Dude” Johnson and Roberta “Bert” Watson, both of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie, in 2006; and two sisters: Jaqueline “Jack” Franklin and “Babe” Croft.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Entombment will be at the mausoleum. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
Memorials in Doyle’s name may be made to the Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4055 Nonchalant Circle South, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
