October 1, 1941 – February 23, 2024
Skip passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his wife and family on February 23, 2024 at the age of 82.
Born October 1, 1941, he was the first son of (the late) Earle and Stella Noonan Sr. He grew up on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. After graduating from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, N.J. he joined the Marines and was stationed at Camp Lejeune. He continued his service in the reserves while attending Greenville Technical College where he earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science and went on to teach at Greenville Tech. From there he started a career in Technology, writing programs for businesses, which over time led to his position as Vice President of Technology for PYA/Monarch Foodservice. After many years working as an executive, he chose to step out and started his own small business venture, starting with a seafood market in Greenville, South Carolina, and finally a house remodeling and repair business in Colorado Springs.
He enjoyed fishing, car racing, cooking, adventure outings, joking or just being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; sister, Dolly Patterson (Jack); daughter, Danielle DeShields (Grant), and grandson, Anders; daughter, Michelle Mahaffey, and grandchildren, Jordann and Ferron; son, Sean (Brittany), and grandchildren, Stella and Eli; daughter, Erin; sister-in-law, Johanna Yandel; brother-in-law, Clint Kyme (Lynn); and his many nephews and nieces. Skip was preceded in death by his brother, Greg, and nephew, Torrey.
His ability to stay calm in the most difficult situations and be the voice of reason was assuring to all. Skip was a friend, brother, and mentor to many and touched the hearts of those who briefly knew him. He will be truly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
