Edith Sonja (Smettons) Dusch, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born on April 20, 1935, in East Prussia. Edith grew up in East Prussia and Germany. She met and married her husband Ron while he was serving in the US Army in Germany. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1968. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden, listening to German music, shopping, and spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor and laughed often. Even though she was small, she had a big heart and gave the best bear hugs.
Edith is survived by two sons, Gary (Dawn), and Perry (Linda); five grandchildren: Emily, Evan, Nicole, Presley, and Blade; two great grandchildren; and a cousin, Erika Brenke of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; sister; and loving husband, Ron. Her passing is a loss to all who knew her, especially her family who loved her dearly. We will love and miss you forever, but we know that you are at peace with the Lord.
The family would like to thank her neighborhood friends for helping her and watching over her. We also want to thank the excellent caregivers and nurses who took such wonderful care of her. We will be forever grateful for your kindness, compassion, and love.
