Elda (Jantz) Smith went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2016 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John, and her son, David (Kathi). She is survived by her sister, Sadie Decker; her five children: Douglas (Marilyn) Smith, Joyce (Tim) Terry, Robert (Claudia) Smith, Timothy (Debbie) Smith, and Lori Smith; her ten grandchildren: Brandon, Michael, Andrew, Benjamin, Katherine, Melissa, Jennifer, Courtney, Kala, and Tucker; and also by her 13 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Gavin, Alexandra, Ezekiel, Jacob, Kaydence, Addysen, Logan, Jamin, Landin, Dylin, Brodie and Gabrielle.
She was a long time resident of Colorado Springs and a member of the First Evangelical Free Church for more than 45 years. She enjoyed many church activities, sewing and quilting, playing cards with friends, and was a member of several senior bowling leagues.
Her sweet quiet spirit endeared her to all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was sharing that life with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, February 18th at the Shrine of Remembrance at 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 19, at the First Evangelical Free Church located at 820 N. 30th Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A reception will follow the funeral service at the church.
