Elisabeth O. Culp, age 90, passed away on May 27 at her home in Colorado Springs after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on January 11, 1933 in Soest, the Netherlands, to parents Johannes and Helene (Dietrich) Prinsen. Elisabeth married Lt. Kenneth C. Culp in the Netherlands in 1955, and in 1956 came to the US, living the Air Force life moving every couple of years to a different state. Upon Ken’s retirement in 1974 the family settled in Colorado Springs.
Elisabeth took pride in her fine cooking and entertaining skills. She also enjoyed swimming, oil painting, antiquing, and USAFA hockey.
She is survived by her three sons: Robert, David and Stanley; her sister, Maria Besson; and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Ken Culp, who passed away in 2002.
There will be a memorial service at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel on June 6, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
