Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Gladin
October 31, 1946 – September 19, 2017
Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Gladin, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1959, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Pikes Peak Hospice. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Betty was born on October 31, 1946 in Englewood, New Jersey to Harold and Elizabeth Claire (Sheary) Blume. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education from Adams State College. She married Terry Q. Gladin on May 22, 1971 in Colorado Springs at the First United Methodist Church, Lehmberg Chapel.
Betty was an avid crafter who enjoyed crocheting. She also loved traveling with her firefighter family to the World Police and Fire Games, reading, and working puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Gladin; son, Mark (Lena) Gladin; sister, Mary (Frank) Griffin; 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Quentin, Kylee, Mia, and Dalton; 4 nephews; 2 nieces; and 1 grand-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Grant Gladin; and a sister, Patricia Perry.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. A luncheon reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Private inurnment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven East Patio Niches.
