Elizabeth Margaret Healy
Elizabeth Margaret Healy, age 82, a resident of Fountain, Colorado since 1982, and formerly of Amsterdam, New York and Belfast, Ireland, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Elizabeth Gregg was born on April 3, 1931 in Belfast, Ireland to the late Robert and Sarah (McClure) Gregg. She attended schools in Belfast, came to the United States in 1954, and met and married her first husband, Alexander Raymond Fyfe. Mr. Fyfe passed away in 1977. She later met James J. Healy in 1982, and they were married at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs in January of 1983.
She is survived by her husband, MSgt James J. Healy, USAF (Ret.) of Fountain, Colorado; her children: Colleen Tomek of Broadalbin, New York; and Diane Fyfe (and Kevin Depp) of Colorado Springs; and her brother: Thomas Gregg of Balleyclaire, Ireland. She is also survived by Jim’s children: Sharon (and William) Bodiford of Colorado Springs; James Healy of Denver; Maureen Ballenger of Fountain; Laura (and David) Magnus of Fountain; Colleen (and Henry) Daniel of Colorado Springs; and Sheila Healy of Colorado Springs. Liz has thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Jane Ahrens; and a brother: Robert J. Gregg.
A private family memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel.
Memorial services and burial will be held later in Amsterdam, New York.
