Elma Louise Swearengin, 83, passed away at her home in Colorado Springs on June 30, 2017.

Born Elma Chostner in Lebanon, Kansas on June 22, 1934 to Jacob Ezra and Dorothy Pearl Spencer Chostner. She moved to Limon, Colorado at the age of four. After graduating from Limon High School she came to Colorado Springs. It was there she met Wm. Murray Swearengin at a USO dance on Fort Carson. They married November 1, 1953.

Elma enjoyed a 27 year career with LooArt Press/Current, Inc. She will be best remembered for being a steadfast friend with a quick wit and a delightful sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray. Elma is survived by her son, William L. “Bill” Swearengin and her daughter, Nancy L. Swearengin.

Visitation 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel on Friday, July 7, 2017. Private entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
