Elwood “Zig” Ziegenfuss, 85, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and formerly of Darby, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 18, 2016. Zig was born on August 30, 1931 to the late Vance and Laura (McQuiston) Ziegenfuss.
Zig proudly served in the United States Army for several years where he was awarded a Bronze Star medal. After his military career, Zig worked as a truck driver for Transit Mix for many years. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling with his sweetheart, Catie.
Zig is survived by his nieces, Tea and AnnMarie as well as a nephew, Skip, all from Pennsylvania; his beloved family Ted and Mary Neville, Scott and Anna Neville, Amy and Dean Palmer, Carol, Catie, Donnie, Jason and all that loved him!
A private inurnment was held earlier this month at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home.
