Emerita Romero-Anderson
March 5, 1948 – April 3, 2012
Emerita, a Colorado native and descendant of some of the first Colorado settlers was born in San Luis, CO.
A lifelong educator, she taught Kindergarten through College level classes in Colorado Springs and Guam during her 30 years as a teacher. Most recently her biggest accomplishments were her published, national award winning children’s books.
Emerita is survived by her husband: Kent Anderson; daughter: Megan Githens (Brad Githens): 3 grandchildren: 4 sisters: Vikki Hinojos, Tish Herrera, Diana Cortez, Agnes Rivera; and brother: Felix Romero.
Memorial services are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow the services and will be held at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
