On Tuesday, August 11, 2020 Enzo Enrico Vennettilli, Jr., beloved husband, father, son, brother, firefighter and friend to so many, was unexpectedly called to Heaven to be with the Lord Jesus, at the age of 43.

Enzo leaves behind an unimaginable void and will be forever remembered by his loving wife and best friend, Sarah and their amazing boys, Brady and Evan, by his parents Enzo Sr. and Cheryl Vennettilli, by his brother Nick (Kendra) Vennettilli and his sister Gina (Fred) Damuth.  Enzo had a wonderful, large family and will be deeply missed by his many Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, nephews and his niece.  Enzo was also profoundly loved by his wife’s parents, Susan and Gordon Wark and her sister, Maria Wark.  Enzo leaves behind a brotherhood and incredible family at the Fort Carson Fire Department and will be missed by so many close friends there.

Enzo was born November 21st, 1976 in Detroit, MI, a fact that he was proud of as evidenced by his signature Detroit Tigers baseball hat. Colorado was where his heart belonged though. Enzo was thrilled to call Monument, CO home and loved spending time in the mountains and outside. Some of his favorite pastimes included: fishing and camping with his family and friends, spending time on the water, hunting and simply spending quality time with those he loved.  He was so dearly looking forward to sharing his passion for the outdoors with his boys as they grew.  Enzo was also a skilled firefighter with 13 years of service. His work at Fort Carson Fire Department was so much more than a career, it was his calling.  He loved truck work, technical rescue and wild land firefighting.  His absence will leave a hole at Station 31 and throughout the rest of the Fort Carson Fire Department.  Enzo loved helping others and was always ready to lend his vast technical and construction expertise to anyone in need.  As a licensed electrician, he was always eager to help his neighbors with any home improvement project.  Enzo valued the deep friendships he formed.  When he loved you, you were family.

Enzo was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Arthur Ruszkowski and his paternal grandparents Elvidio and Josephine Vennettilli.  He has also been reunited with many loving cousins, aunts and uncles and is now in Heaven watching over and protecting us all.

A Viewing will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910 on Friday, August 21st from 12-2 pm.  A Celebration of Life and Memorial Services with Firefighter Honors will take place from 3-5 pm at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 US-85, Colorado Springs, CO 80911.
