Ernesto Correa Castilla Jr, age 67, passed away on March 28, 2018. He was a resident of Renningen, Germany for 33 years and was formerly a resident of Sunnyside, Washington.
Ernesto Correa Castilla Jr was born November 3, 1950 to Ernesto Castilla and Natividad (Correa) Castilla in New Home, Texas. On March 3, 1991 he married Rita Szonn in Germany.
Ernie loved his children, Harley Davidson motorcycles, old classic cars, keeping busy, and serving others. He could be found hanging out in his garden and cabin in Germany. He attended Sunnyside High School and graduated in 1970. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Szonn; his children: Angela Minor, Nathaniel Castilla, Kimberly Clark, and Kerstin Viehmann; his siblings: Ben Castilla, Jimmy Castilla, Rosie Castilla, Peter Castilla, Adam Castilla, Maria Castilla, and Luis Castilla; his grandchildren: Gabriella, Chase, Julieta, Deondre, Bowin, and Declan; and his mother-in-law, Amie Szonn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto Castilla Sr., and Natividad Castilla-Correa.
Ernie had such an infectious soul. Everyone that crossed his path was immediately drawn to him. His joking personality and his smile could brighten anyone’s day. His love for life and his family was the upmost of importance to him. We miss him terribly already and hope that he continues to live on in our memories forever.
