Ethel June Shivley
Ethel J. Shivley, 80 years old, passed away on February 5, 2017. She was a resident in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park for over 60 years. Ethel worked in the Food Service Industry, cooking for schools, hospitals, and nursing homes.
Ethel was born December 1, 1936 to Frank Baldwin and Mabel (Best) Baldwin in South Dakota. On December 12, 1954 she married Ray C. Shivley in Colorado.
Ethel loved to crochet. She was fond of making dolls, their clothing, baby blankets, mittens, and a myriad of other items. She also enjoyed playing cards, solving puzzles, and cooking for her family.
Ethel is survived by one sister Viola/Leroy; two sons, Ray C. Jr., and Robert A.; two daughters, Terry J. Griffith and Lori L. Vinzant; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer, Tiffany, Scott, Andrew, and David; and 5 great grandchildren: Natalie, Jayce, Konor, Amiya, and Draivyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C Shivley Sr.; her brother, Frank; and her daughter, Susan K. (Shivley) Richardson.
A visitation will be held from 9:00am – 10:00am on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., followed by the funeral service at 10:00am. Ethel will then be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock Avenue.
