Eva Joan “Fearn” Comiskey, 81, of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 16, 2014. Fearn was born on March 4, 1933 to Ernest and Rachel (LeDoux) Fearn in Indianola, Nebraska. After completing high school, Fearn attended Saint Mary’s College in Xavier, Kansas and graduated in 1953 with a degree in nursing. She had a career in nursing for several years until she and her husband started a family.

On August 21, 1954, Fearn married Ralph E. Comiskey and together raised four children. Fearn was a loving and devoted spouse for over 58 years. Upon Ralph’s retirement from the US Army in 1974, the couple relocated to Colorado Springs and spent the rest of their lives together in the Springs. In her spare time, Fearn enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. (She loved being a Grammy!) She was also known to be quite “crafty,” often taking on many “do- it yourself” projects.

Fearn is survived by her children: Michael (Toni) Comiskey, Matthew Comiskey, Lisa (Dirk) Schanel and Lori Comiskey; grandchildren: Zachary (Marcie) Comiskey, Katie (Justin) Scott, Paige (Eric) Lawless, Nicole and Garrett Schanel; great grandchildren: Callum and Paxton Comiskey and Jovie and Hattie Scott. She is also survived by her sisters: Rose Marie Fearn and Theresa Armstrong as well as her brother, Bernard (Sharon) Fearn. She is preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her beloved husband of 58 years, Ralph, who passed in 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in the Academy Lounge at Liberty Heights, 12105 Ambassador Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Private inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior.
