Evelyn Dotson, age 78, passed away on September 16, 2024. She has been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for more than 40 years. She was previously a resident of Wooster, Ohio and was born in Galveston, Kentucky.
Evelyn fell in love with Colorado when she visited in 1982. Once she relocated, she was a frequent visitor to Garden of the Gods and Cheyenne Mountain State Park. She was also a docent at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Once she moved to Colorado, she never wanted to live anywhere else, and she immersed herself in the natural beauty of the state.
Evelyn was an avid stamp collector and had pen pals all over the world. She was also a member of The Romance Writers of America.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Angela McClellan; son, Mark Dotson; brother, Danny Bell; and granddaughter, Brianne McClellan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gypsie (Rogers) Bell; stepfather, Raymond Bell; and brothers: Morman A. Adkins and Russel E. Adkins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
