First Sergeant James J. White, US Army (Ret.), age 73, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and formerly of Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a loving husband, and also for the last 20 years had been a letter carrier with the Uintah Branch of the US Postal Service.
James Joseph Delottle was born on December 23, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He attended school in Portsmouth and college in Ohio. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He married Janet Lynn (Nephew) White on April 10, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they raised a family and enjoyed travel and camping.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Jan of Colorado Springs; two children; two step-children; and several grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Avenue. A reception will follow the services at the church. Cremation is planned and burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
