Frances Guyer Booker
October 4, 1927 – July 14, 2016

Frances Guyer Booker was born in October 1927 to Louis and Irma Guyer of Calhan, Colorado. She attended the Ellicott and Peyton Schools. After high school she worked in Civil Service at Fort Carson.

In February 1948 she married Wayne Booker and was a homemaker, wife, and mother to her four children: David, Donald, Denise and D’Wayne.

Her family will have fond memories of her amazing sewing ability; always making, patching, and hemming clothes for them.

She loved spending time in her yard and filling it full of beautiful flowers. She worked side by side with her husband dairying and driving trucks during harvest season.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Irma Guyer; her youngest son, D’Wayne; her brother, Virgil Guyer; and her husband, Wayne Booker.

She is survived by her three children: David (Marna) Booker, Donald Booker, and Denise (Bill) King, all of Calhan, Colorado; her grandchildren: Jason (Kristy) Booker and children, of Oakley, Kansas, Sabrina Tunoa and children of Calhan, Colorado, LouRae Rady and children of Kit Carson, Colorado, Aaron Booker and family of Calhan, Colorado, Nicholas King and family of Calhan, Colorado, Louanne Dempsey and son of Calhan, Colorado. She is also survived by her sister, Dot Boone of Colorado Springs, along with many nieces and nephews.

We extend our special appreciation to Colette and Wendy Lindt for their wonderful care they provided for her in her last year of her life which ended July 14, 2016.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard. A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
