Francis “Frank” J. McCann, Jr., 94, passed away on December 3, 2016.
He was a resident of Colorado Springs for over 30 years and was formerly a resident of Framingham, Massachusetts where he ran his own auto driving school, and owned and operated a store on Newbury Street in Boston called The Santa Fe Shop.

Frank had a love for all animals and adopted many dogs and cats throughout his life. He always looked forward to watching Thoroughbred Racing, especially the Kentucky Derby. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football. Frank graduated from Northeastern University where he was a star athlete on the track and field team and won many medals and trophies. Frank also served his country in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps.

Frank is survived by his children: George McCann and his wife Kimberly, Robert McCann and his wife Candace; his grandchildren: Melissa and Justin; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris McCann; his children: Francis J. McCann, III, Ann Whitcher, and their mother, Eleanor McCann.

A funeral service along with a memorial service for his son, Francis J. McCann, III will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910 on January 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Following the services, private entombment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance, Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
