Col. Frank R. Wisneski, USAF (Retired) passed away on June 23, 2014. He died after a long battle with bladder cancer.
Frank was born on September 2, 1932 to the late Frank D. and Victoria (Waligorski) Wisneski in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and then served 30 years in the United States Air Force before retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1962, Frank married his beloved wife, Mary Aimone.
Frank was a member of St. Paul Catholic Parish and volunteered with the Air Force Association, Order of Daedalians, United States Space Symposium, Notre Dame Club of Colorado Springs and the Benedictine Sisters of Colorado Springs at Benet Hill Center.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary; children: Michael Wisneski (Michelle Bauer), Patrick (Cate) Wisneski, and Margaret (Patrick) McNelis. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Taylor, Blake, Cooper, Courtney, Matthew, and Madeline; his niece Bonnie Panther (Jim); and his nephew, Bob West (Chelly); as well as many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment and military honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, staging area “C” in Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
