Frank Recaido
Frank Recaido, age 68, a resident of the Colorado Springs area since 1981 and formerly of Manila, Philippines and Hawaii, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Francisco Cachero Recaido was born January 11, 1944 in the Philippines. He graduated from High School in Manila in 1956 and joined the U.S. Army in 1967 serving in Vietnam. He later joined the U.S. Merchant Marines where he continued his education. He was a Vietnam Veteran who was also for many years a truck driver in Hawaii and locally an electronics technician. He was a member of the Filipino-American Community of Southern Colorado. He was married on July 12, 1969 to Irene Arruiza in Canada. Irene survives and lives in Fountain.
Frank is also survived by his son, Ricky (wife, Kim) Recaido of Vacaville, California; two brothers: Mariano Recaido and Pedro (wife, Rosalinda) Recaido; two sisters: Lucila (husband, Jaime) Tacadena and Juana (husband, Ben) Recaido, all of the Philippines.
Mr. Recaido has three grandchildren: Brittany Olivo Rosa, Mitchell Recaido, and Taylor Recaido.
Frank will be best remembered for his wonderful talent and karaoke vocals, and being a good father, grandfather and husband.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Cryptside committal services with honors will follow services at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven. A luncheon reception will then be held at Julie’s Bar and Grill, 1861 South Chelton Rd and Academy Boulevard.
