Garland Lee Williams was born in Washington D.C. on September 18, 1948 to the late Lonnie Mae Williams and Clarence Douglas. Garland Lee Williams graduated from Dematha Catholic High School, where he was a star on the high school basketball team. He graduated with high honors to which he received a scholarship to LSU, Louisiana State University. Garland Lee Williams joined the Army and served as a medical assistant. Garland Williams retired from the Army and was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness. Garland leaves behind his daughters, Trina Lonnell Williams, Lonnie Marie Williams, Gabriela Louisa Williams, and Garla Lynn Williams; his only grandson, Quincy Corsey; brothers, Dwayne Williams and the late Lavan V. Smith; niece and nephews: Destiny Williams, Dwayne Williams, Jr., and Kewayne Williams; uncles, George Williams (Gail), and Matthew Head; and aunts, Rosanna Batten, and Helen Johnson.
