Gary Mark Bostrom, 60, was born in Colorado Springs on October 25, 1956, to Warren and Ruby Bostrom. He passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2017.
Gary was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs. In the Spring of 1978, he met Sara George, and they were married on October 11, 1980.
Gary retired in 2015, celebrating a 36-year career with the Colorado Springs Utilities where he had a tremendous impact on the whole community. He was a humble and devoted servant to his family, church, work, and community, building lasting relationships with all of those around him. In addition to his many professional accomplishments, his greatest joy was loving, caring for, and providing for his family. All who knew Gary were positively impacted by his character, smile, and joy for life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Warren.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby; his siblings: Judy (Sam) Palpant, Steve (Virginia) Bostrom, and Sandi (Paul) Moede; his wife, Sara; his children: Matt (Callie) Bostrom, Erin (Zach) Ward, Alli (Jeremy) Smith, and Andrew (Mender) Bostrom; and his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as “Papa”.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, from 5pm to 7pm, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, at 2pm at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4055 S. Nonchalant Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. Private interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
