Gary O. Newport, 60, of Monument, Colorado passed away on December 24, 2015 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. Gary was born on October 27, 1955 in Spokane, Washington to Lawrence and Jean (Turnball) Newport. Due to his father’s military career, the family traveled quite extensively. They made their home in Colorado Springs in 1970 and Gary graduated from Harrison High School in 1973.
Gary met Sandy Kersten in 1974 and the two were married in Florida in 1975. The two later divorced but were re-married in Buena Vista, Colorado in 2000. Gary and Sandy have owned and operated GSN Services Pressure Washing since 2002.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his mother, Jean; sons: Sean and Miles Newport; stepdaughter, Dawn (Travis) Propernick; grandsons: Jaden and Deven Propernick; sisters: Laurie (Tony) White, Teresa Cobb and Christy Newport as well as many other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence and his daughter, Jenny Newport.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 17750 Knollwood Drive, Monument, Colorado 80132.
