Genevieve Hall

Genevieve E. Hall, age 101+, passed away on March 30, 2019. She was born on August 22, 1917 to Benjamin F. Erickson and Nina A. (Mowry) Erickson on a farm outside of Hoxie, Kansas. They lived in Western Kansas until she was 8 years old when they moved to the Colorado Springs area. She attended several schools and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1935. After high school she worked several years as an operator for the telephone company. On December 14, 1939, she married George J. Hall in Colorado Springs. She worked part time jobs, but her main focus was on their two children: David 1949-1967 and Jacque 1952-Living. In 1980, their granddaughter, Kimberly L., was born. They were both very involved in taking care of her.

Genevieve loved to play bridge, work crossword puzzles, and play bingo. She also loved to go out to eat.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Hall; and husband, George J. Hall. Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Hall; son in law, Robert Ross; granddaughter, Kimberly Clasen; nephew, Greg Hall and his wife Robin Hall; niece, Janice Hall; cousin, Carol Mosier Bach and her husband Al Bach; and cousin, Diane Heinemann and her husband Don Heinemann.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at The Olympian Plaza Reception & Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

Memorials in the name of Genevieve Hall may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.

  2. Loved Genevieve “with an e” as she would say, from the day I met her (June 2009). She reminded me so much of my mom. I met her at the Inn at Garden Plaza where I work and where she was a resident for many, many years. Sad to know she is no longer amongst us. And glad to know she lived for so many years. My thoughts and prayers to her family and may she rest in eternal peace ❤️
