George was born September 15, 1957 to Rhine and Elma (Lee) Berig in Denver, Colorado. On December 4, 1982 he married Nenita Vinuya at Homestead AFB, Florida.
George graduated from North High School in Denver in 1977 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in 1988. In life, George enjoyed cycling, woodworking, designing houses, classic cars, movies, and music. He was a lifelong Colorado sports fan, being an avid supporter of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies (he attended the inaugural Rockies game). He was also a proud nerd who enjoyed comic books and was a fan of all things science fiction and fantasy, most notably Star Trek. But, his biggest joy came from spending time with his family.
