Geraldine J. Wallace passed away on July 29, 2016, at Liberty Heights Nursing Home. She was 74 years old.

Gerry was born to Arthur E. Patterson Jr and Josephine (Pusatory) Patterson on September 9, 1941 in Pueblo, CO. When she was very young, her parents divorced and she went to live with her maternal grandparents, Tony and Anna Pusatory. Her grandmother had many brothers and sisters, so Gerry grew up around a large Italian family that included some colorful and interesting individuals. She attended Pueblo schools and high school in Nucla, CO.

She married Melvin Wallace on February 17, 1958 in Montrose, CO. They lived on a farm near Hotchkiss, CO, for many years where they raised their 3 children. During those years, she and her family attended the Bible Center Church in Paonia, CO, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Awana program. That church always held a special place in her heart.

They moved from Hotchkiss to Grand Junction, CO in 2003. After her husband’s death in December 2007, she moved to Colorado Springs, CO, to be near her family.

She enjoyed Bible study, especially “end-times” prophecy; reading historical novels, yard work and watching the Denver Broncos. Spending time with family and friends was always special to her.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Lynn (Mark) Tankesley and Brenda (Dan) Bear; 1 son, Brent (Cindy) Wallace; 6 grandchildren, Kerry (Andy), Kyle, Bryan, Zachary, Bethany and Ellie; 2 great grandchildren, Carter and Kaelyn; close cousin, Kathy Pusatory; a half-brother, Mike Grodesky; and 2 half-sisters, Penny Kammerzell and Pam Lauer; fellow granny Charla Stenman; and dear friends who blessed her life; and her little dog, Benji.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her special aunt, Betty Kolesarek; and dear uncle, Sam Pusatory.

Ephesians 2:8,9 “For by grace you have been saved by faith and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast”.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 11:00am at The Lodge at Cathedral Pines, 13977 Milam Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80908. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gerry to Our Daily Bread at ourdailybread.org/honor-memorial-giving.
