Glen Malcolm “Mick” McHarg passed away February 26, 2016 at home in Colorado Springs, where he resided for 20 years. He was a retired pastor for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Mick was born on September 12, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas to Glen Uhri McHarg and Prudence Elizabeth (Skelton) McHarg. He married Marjorie Guy on June 5, 1949 in Wichita.
He attended Seminary in Oklahoma and Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was active in ministry in Colorado Springs for 6 years, and also had pastorates in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma before retiring to Colorado Springs. The church was his life. Three times a week he wrote a devotional to go on the church prayer phone.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie G. McHarg; children: Marcia “Marci” (Dan) King, Mark Gregory (Anne) McHarg, and Michael Glen (Jennifer) McHarg; 10 grandchildren: Alexis, Taishawn (Yulemy), David, Treandre, Austin, Max, Ellen, Gabrielle, Duncan, and Dawson; and 2 great-grandchildren: Issa and Karissa.
A memorial service will be held on March 19 at 1pm at First Christian Church, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow the service.
