Greg Sanders, age 61, a resident of the Colorado Springs area since December of 2003, and formerly of Apply Valley, California passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a devoted father, brother, son and companion.
Gregory Ashton Sanders was born on July 31, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Dora (Lange) Sanders. He graduated from High School in California and attended Cal Poly Tech University. He married Georgina Torres on May 19, 1980 in California.
For many years, Greg was a Jobs Specialist with the County of San Bernardino, California. He was an Army veteran and loved music, football, helping others in need and especially his family. He was a man of faith who loved the scriptures, doing what was right “no matter what the cost” and will be best remembered for his generosity.
He is survived by his son: Gregory William Sanders of Peyton; his best friend and companion: Susan Kaylor of Peyton; his mother: Dora Sanders of Rialto, California; his sisters: Genie Sanders of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Marcie Elardo of Chino Hills, California; and Nancy Sanders of Fallbrook, California. He is also survived by a brother: Dale Sanders of Glendora, California. Greg had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and his wife: Georgina in 2003.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Philadelphia Ministries worshiping at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2845 Parliament Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920. Cremation is planned. Memorials in his name may be made to Philadelphia Ministries in care of the church.
He will be dearly missed.

28 Aug 2021Wow, I didn’t know where Greg went to for years I tried to be in touch, we were good friends. My wife Debi was best friends with Georgina and cried herself to sleep when she found out that she passed. I am so sorry to find out now the Greg passed, if it’s not to late my deepest condolences to all of you
