Helen “Penny” Louise Bishaw, 84, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully with family in attendance on Thursday, March 23, 2017. She was born in Marion, Illinois on May 29, 1932 to Fleet and Hazel Brown. She married Joseph A.K. Bishaw Jr., on September 18, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Penny is survived by her husband, Joseph; children: Joseph III, Michael, Sharon, Daniel, Kelly, and Gregory; in laws: Doug, Brenda, Chrissi, and Barbel; grandchildren: Sheppard, Keliana, Megan, Lucas, Brent, Nicole, Danielle, Emile, Rylee, Bobbi Jo, Witney, Lee, and Larissa; and great grandchildren: Isabel, Isaac, Ivan, and Michael, with two great grandchildren on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Freeman; her sisters, Bette and Barbara; and her son, Michael.
She served honorably in the Unites States Air Force from June 1951 to June 1955. She enjoyed working in the Peterson Chapel Doll Workshop and was an auxiliary member of TREA. She was an avid reader and mostly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Penny was a lady full of life and took up golf in her later years. She spent most of her vacations in Illinois and the Hawaiian Islands. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel.
