Helena R. Parkinson, age 91, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1976 and formerly of England, passed away on May 14, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Colorado Springs. She was a wardrobe mistress for Bertram Mills Circus and later worked for Hewlett Packard and District 11 School District.
Helena Rosemary Mills was born on March 10, 1921 in Southampton, England to the late William and Rose Mills. She attended Northam schools and married George W. Parkinson on January 5, 1976 in Winnersh.
She is survived by her children: Rosemary Brown; Barry (wife, Carol) Jameson; and Maureen (husband, John) Mohan. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Leonard Ritchie, Andrew Ritchie, Donna (husband, Wayne) Culver; Stuart Jameson; Leon (wife, Gretchen) Jameson; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Parkinson, and a grandson, Kevin Elgar.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.
