The Madrigal Family would like to invite all to remember the life of Henry Madrigal, age 80, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, who passed away June 12, 2011. He was born November 17, 1930 in Blue Island, Illinois the son of late Francesca and Rafael Madrigal. He was the youngest of 7 siblings. On November 30, 1956 he married Oralia Garcia-Martinez who survives.
He served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a bookkeeper for the Catholic Chaplain and as a maintenance technician. He was honorably discharged and retired as a Vietnam Veteran from the Air Force in 1971. After his discharge he was employed by the State of Colorado as a locksmith and maintenance technician at Zebulon Pike Detention Center, for 15 years retiring in 1988. He continued to be employed working for the Roadway Inn as a maintenance technician and shuttle driver until March 10, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Oralia Madrigal; son Joe Madrigal; daughter Diana Terhune and son-in-law John Terhune; daughter Denise Madrigal; grandchildren, Tereza Randalls; Alan Madrigal; Amie Madrigal; Michael Trujillo; Justin Trujillo and Savannah O’Niell.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Interment with Air Force Honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials in Henry’s name may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, 353 South 8th Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905.
