Herbert E. Foster
January 15, 1932 – May 17, 2017

Herbert E. Foster, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1977, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the United States Army.

He was the father to three sons. Two, Roger and David, preceded him in death. They were each their father’s son with each having a particular relation. Although the word “love” wasn’t spoken often, there was love and admiration in each of their hearts for one another.

He was a worker through and through. He shared his knowledge with those who were willing to listen. Lended a hand to those he could help. He cared for his friends and cherished the relationship he was able to forge through conversation and the passage of time.

He adored his wife for the life she’s given him and wished he could have done more in return. In action and words he worked to amend.

He wasn’t a perfect man. He was but a man who walked this earth doing the best he could with what he knew. Becoming wiser with age and humbler with the trials and tribulations of life.

He is survived by his wife, Yong; his son, James; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

A visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
