Herminia Shannon, 87, of Colorado Springs, died peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2017 at The Center on Centennial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born May 29, 1929 in Weston, Colorado to Fulgencio Flynn and Maria (Perea) Flynn. She married Benjamin Shannon on July 17, 1949.
She is survived by her son, James; her sister, Lucille Moore; and her grandson, Justin. She was preceded in death recently by her husband, Benjamin; and her sister, Louisa Anna Casias.
“Minnie” was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs where she lived since leaving Trinidad, Colorado in 1960. She retired from several decades of work at Current Inc. on Woodmen Road.
Minnie loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining and doing crafts with her friends. She was a devout Catholic and dedicated many hours volunteering in the church and their organizations and clubs.
A Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance. Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Entombment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
