Howard G. Robinson
Howard G. Robinson, age 88, a resident of Security since 1962, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at a local care center. He had retired after serving his country in the United States Navy, United States Army, and working at Hewlett Packard, and School District 3.
Howard Gene Robinson was born on August 5, 1924 in Bristow, Oklahoma to the late Floyd and Ardis (McClain) Robinson. He left home at a young age and joined the Navy in 1942. He married Babetta Treuheit on August 4, 1956 in Nuremberg, Germany. He was a career man in the Army, retired as a supply officer in 1964, worked at HP for 15 years, and then in custodial service for School District 3. He had a low key personality, never complained, and was a very hard worker. He was a regular for many years at the Fountain Valley Senior Center, was a Disabled American Veteran, and loved the mountains of Colorado.
He is survived by his loving wife: Babetta of Security; his daughter: Gerie (husband, Nelson) Thomas of Colorado Springs; and his son: Lee Robinson of Security. He is also survived by three sisters: Barbara and Lucille of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Dolores of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also has five grandchildren: Michael (wife, Julie), Jeffrey, Lisa, Ryan, and Branden; and three great-grandchildren: Christopher, Timothy, and Ashley.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter: Linda Johnson who passed away in 2005.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
