Nathaniel was born on December 29, 1992, in Junction City, Kansas. He moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado when he was 5 months old. Nathaniel gave his life to Jesus at a young age. He graduated from Widefield High School in 2011.
On May 17, 2012, he entered the Navy as an Intelligence Specialist. In the Navy he had several stateside duty stations, a deployment on a Navy aircraft carrier, as well as overseas in South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Bahrain. Nathaniel was on his second tour of duty in Bahrain when he passed away on May 5, 2023.
He was known for his happy-go-lucky personality and humor. He enjoyed cooking new recipes for his family and friends. He liked to go camping, play mini golf, and ride his motorcycle.
Nathaniel leaves behind, his parents, Mark and Jackie Jones of Colorado Springs; three siblings: Mark Jones, Jr., Kristopher Jones, and Moriah Roe (Mitchel); one nephew, Levi Roe, who all reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandmother, Carol Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado and a Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
