Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Jack James Ruther was a lover of the outdoors and an extremely hard worker.
On May 13, 1989 Jack married who was to be the love of his life, Dee. Jack and Dee, together with Dee’s two children, Danna and Matt, and their spouses and children, formed a tight family. Jack was funny and liked to tell you that you needed to give him a “quarter” for him to lend you something or do something for you. Jack had a love for mules. He enjoyed hunting and camping. He would pack the mules into the backwoods and enjoy the beauty that Colorado offers.
Jack made his living in construction. He was the owner of his own construction company for countless years and has left a legacy of his work throughout Colorado Springs. Jack was a very detailed and well-thought-out project manager.
Jack was a devout Christian and spent a lot of time serving the Lord within his church and reading the Bible. In his later years, he really enjoyed his coffee dates at McDonalds with, “the boys” and watching westerns on TV.
We know that Jack is spending time “HOME” drinking as much orange pop as he wants, and riding mules through the Promised Land.
Jack was born on August 25, 1933 in Clovis, New Mexico to L.B. and Artie (Ridley) Ruther. Jack was one of two sons and is survived by his brother, Richard, and his children. Jack is also survived by his first wife, Rosa Lee Ruther; his daughters, Sandi Ruther and Patsy (and Harry) DiDomenico; his grandson, Nick DiDomenico; and his second wife, Joyce Ruther.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Eastborough Church of the Nazarene, 4120 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
